DAO Botox® Pre & Post-Care Instructions
Following the right care steps before and after your treatment ensures optimal results and minimizes side effects.
Pre-Care Instructions:
- Alcohol should be avoided for 24 hours before your appointment to prevent bruising.
- Refrain from taking blood-thinning medications or supplements (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E) for 24 hours prior, unless prescribed by your doctor.
- Get your skin ready by removing all makeup and skincare products.
- Let your provider know if you have had recent Botox® or filler treatments.
Post-Care Instructions:
- For four hours after your treatment, avoid lying down to let the product settle correctly.
- Massage, rub, or apply pressure to the treated areas should be avoided for at least 24 hours.
- Intense or strenuous exercise should be avoided for the rest of the day.
- For 24–48 hours, stay away from excessive heat like saunas, hot tubs, or tanning beds.
- If you have any mild swelling or discomfort, you can apply a cool compress.
